Experts from the national oil corporation on Thursday night visited Inkokirding’a village in Kajiado after Hydro-geologists sinking a borehole come across gas suspected to be methane.
A fire on the gas that was oozing from the borehole for more than 72 hours was put off by experts from mines and geology later in the night.
They used “small plastic balls” that they threw on the gas fire to put it off.
Methane is a gas compound with the chemical formula CHâ and is a group-14 hydride.
It is the simplest alkaline and the main constituent of natural underground gas.
