Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso has finally unveiled her much awaited cabinet.
The list of the 10 county executive members which now includes four women presented to the county assembly’s committee on appointments had earlier been rejected after it failed to meet the one third gender rule.
Former Kapletundo MCA Bernard Ngeno and Moi Siongiroi Girls’ Secondary Principal Juliana Yegon are among nominees to the cabinet.
Ngeno a vocal MCA who led an onslaught against former Governor Isaac Ruto’s Administration at the assembly has been nominated by Laboso to the Trade and Tourism docket.
Ngeno chaired the powerful Budget and Appropriation Committee in the assembly has been cited as a key pillar in the Laboso administration.
The Siongiroi Principal on her part has been nominated to the Education and Vocational Training docket.
Others are Joseph Sitonik (health), Benson Sang (Water and Sanitation), Justus Maina (Administration and ICT), Julius Tuei (Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operative), Andrew Sigei (Finance and Economic Planning) and Daisy Chelangat Rono (Lands & Urban Planning).
Evaline Rono from Konoin Sub County has been nominated for the position of County Secretary to replace current office holder Jonathan Soi from Sotik.
The list has been hailed for its gender balance and observing regional balance.
While presiding the official opening of the assembly two weeks ago, Laboso urged the MCAs to fast track the vetting of ministers to enable her administration get down to work.
The committee is set to vet the nominees and present a report the assembly for approval by the members.
Laboso said she would be banking on CECs to start off projects as per her manifesto.
