President Kenyatta calls for urgent global action to protect oceans

Babu Owino’s supporters protested outside the Milimani court on Wednesday, demanding his release after a second night in cell over apparent insults to the President.

Owino, whose real name is Paul Ongili, was arraigned in Nairobi for apparently referring to President Uhuru Kenyatta as ‘mtoto wa mbwa‘.

He addressed charged NASA supporters on September 24 during a rally in Kawangware, Dagoreti North, that chief Raila Odinga and other Opposition leaders attended.

On Tuesday, the Embakasi East MP denied charges of subversion, abusing the President and an alternative count of incitement to violence.
