Four people died on Tuesday morning after their driver lost control of the car which then rolled near South Horr town in Samburu North.
The group was travelling from Baragoi town to South Horr.
Survivor Netty Lesasa said: “Our driver died at the scene. I suspect the brakes failed.”
Four other travellers sustained serious injuries and were taken to Samburu County Referral Hospital. Two were later transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital.
Boniface Atandi, a doctor at the hospital, said 43-year-old John Lesasi suffered hip dislocation and compound bone fractures.
The doctor said victim Ali Mohammed, 63, suffered a dislocation in his left pelvic joint.
“With the help of our Governor, they have been evacuated to Nairobi. We hope everything will be fine.”
Atandi said Lesasa and Milima Lekupe had multiple open fractures and were taken to the Samburu facility.
There aren’t many workers at the hospital as nurses and clinical officers are on strike.
The bodies were taken to the Samburu hospital’s mortuary.
