Deputy Inspector General, Kenya Police Service Joel Kitili has transferred senior police officers as the country gears up for the next month’s presidential repeat polls.

Among those shuffled include director of planning at police headquarters, Vigilance House Noor Gabow who has been elevated and named the new Kiganjo Police Training College (KPTC) commandant.

Gabow will replace outgoing commandant William Atswenje Saiya who has been redeployed to Vigilance House.

His immediate former boss Peter Mwanzia has been redeployed to police headquarters.

“The changes take effect immediately.” The circular signed by Kitili says.

Deputy commandant at Kenya Railway Police Unit (Krpu) Remi Warui has been moved to Kapu to deputise Bunei.

Last week, Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet met all regional and county police commanders in a daylong close door security at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi.

During the meeting, it was agreed two operational orders be drafted in all respective regions for both the elections and national exams and will be executed by a multi-agency security team for ease of coordination as part of the security road map.

Security commanders were taken through crowd management training, riots containment and terrorism threats.
