The ongoing SGR project, drilling of geothermal in Olkaria and the Suswa power station will positively change the lives of members of the Maasai community once complete.
The community has thus been challenged to fully support the capital projects and stop unnecessary bickering and delays through demonstrations.
This emerged during a Jubilee meeting in Suswa trading centre where the community leaders and their followers abandoned NASA and promised to spearhead the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Jubilee coordinator in Nakuru County Karimi Waiganjo, the community had not been sidelined by the government as claimed by the opposition. He said that tens of youths had already been employed in the ongoing SGR and Olkaria projects with more set to benefit in the coming days.
“We are calling on members of the Maa community to support the ongoing government projects in this area as they will be the final beneficiaries,” he said. Karimi who led other Jubilee leaders to the area noted that water was still a problem in the semi-arid region adding that this would be addressed in the coming months.
“Already plans are underway by the current government to supply Suswa town with water from Kamere and also from Kijabe before the year ends,” he said.
