Former Meru Governor Peter Munya has joined NASA and will lead campaigns in Central before Raila Odinga faces Jubilee’s Uhuru Kenyatta at the ballot for the second time.
Munya announced his move at a press briefing on Monday, saying he cannot join “those who stole my election”.
The politician vied for re-election on a PNU ticket but lost to Jubilee Party candidate Kiraitu Murungi who was Senator.
“I am now in NASA and we shall fight together for change and transformation of this great nation,” he said.
“The Supreme Court ruled that IEBC mismanaged the election, you can be sure they did not only mismanage the presidential election. Soon you will see I am not the only cannon fodder of their game.”
Munya, who is former Council of Governors chairman, said he and his senator candidate will on Monday file a petition to nullify Kiraitu’s victory.
He noted the National Super Alliance helped him find critical evidence to support his claims of irregularities. He lost the election by about 40,000 votes.
“I can confidently say my votes were stolen. We shall table this evidence in court to prove illegalities were used to deny me a clear win.”
