Teachers in Bungoma have hailed the nomination Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary general Wilson Sossion to parliament.
Led by Webuye East KNUT executive secretary Agrey Namisi, they said teachers had been neglected for a long time and that they will have one of their own to represent them in national parliament.
”Now with Sossion in parliament be assured that teachers problems were going to be addressed,” said Namisi.
Speaking to the press, Namisi who is also the member of the union executive council, however said Sossion will not resign as their secretary general.
He said the union boss will still be in office to serve teachers and also defend them in parliament.
