Jubilee Party has nominated the late Mark Too’s daughter to the Uasin Gishu county assembly.
Jenny Chebet is among 13 women who made the party’s list for slots in DP William Ruto’s home county.
During her father’s burial, President Uhuru Kenyatta promised not to forget the family.
“After this, I will invite you so that we can find out how to work together,” he said on January 9.
Jenny said Too taught her the importance of their Kalenjin culture.
“As a politician, my father would go to nearby shops every morning and he would ask people to tell him what the world was saying. I will also be doing that,” she said.
The gazetted list shows the ruling coalition has nominated 56 women, in a pool of 77 slots, to county assemblies.
This is in Turkana, West Pokot, Samburu, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Baringo and Trans Nzoia counties.
