Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has denied press reports that he is eyeing National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi’s position.
Wamalwa who called our newsroom yesterday, said he already has a job which he is comfortable with and does not harbor any interests in becoming the speaker of the National Assembly.
“I have a job as a Cabinet Secretary, unless the President says otherwise. At no time have I expressed interest in the position of speaker. Neither have I submitted any application for the position,” Wamalwa.
The CS blamed the reports to some cabal of individuals out to cause confusion within the government’s working system.
“As far I am concerned, I have a good working relationship with Muturi, who is also a close friend. Please tell Kenyans to ignore such reports that are intended to cause despondency and confusion,” said Wamalwa.
