Two middle aged men were killed after they were hit by vehicles in two separate accidents in Naivasha and Gilgil.
In the first incident a 32 year old man was hit and killed by a private vehicle as he was heading home near the notorious Karai black spot along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The man according to a local leader James Kabono was walking on the sideway of the highway when a speeding Motor vehicle hit him and died on the spot.
Kabono said the victim was returning home after watching a football match and decried the rising number of accidents targeting pedestrians in that section of the highway.
“At least ten people have so lost their lives in the last four months and all these incidents have been caused by speeding private vehicles”.
Kabono noted that despite the erection of bumps, motorists were yet to heed to the call of slowing down adding that it was painful to see innocent souls die for what could be avoided.
“We want the government to put stringent measures to curb the rising cases so that we save a generation and youths who are prone to such accidents”.
