Football Kenya Federation NEC sets up Committees to steer the sport
Following a crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the new Football Kenya Federation (FKF) administration has made a raft of operational changes at key institutions under it.
Two new NEC Members have been co-opted bringing the total number of membership to 14. The pair; Ken Rungu who is the immediate former Meru County Chairman and Abdalla Yusuf are now into the NEC list. At the same time, a total 12 standing committees have been activated in accordance with Article 46 of the FKF Constitution. These committees aim to streamline football governance and development.
The 12 Committees namely; Finance Committee, Leagues & Competitions Committee, Technical Committee, Referees Committee, Legal Committee, Womens’ Committee, Youth Committee, Futsal & Beach Committee, Medical Committee, Player Status Committee, Arbitration Committee and International Match Organizing Committee (IMOC).
In the Finance Committee that will be Chaired by Luthers Mokua from Nyamira County, his team membership will include; Charles Njagi,Caroline Kiambi,Isaac Munene,Dennis Simiyu,Yusuf Ngaku and Abdalla Yusuf. In the Leagues & Competitions Committee that is Chaired by Peter Kamau “Kas Kas” from Lower Rift, the membership will have; Danson Nga’ng’a as Deputy Chair with Boaz Kibet,Jeff Mudembei,Abdinasir Yusuf, Bernard Odongo and Hussein Kadiir Ali also involved.
Additionally, the Technical Committee to be Chaired by Robert Macharia of Central Region and deputized by Collins Opiyo of Nyanza region will have a membership including Reuben Kai,Alex Musikeri,Godana Roba,Rose Chemutai and Athanas Obala. In the Referees Committee, Caleb Amwayi from the Western Region and deputized by Maqulate Anyango will have Ken Ruto, Samuel Mwongela,Betty Kerubo,Peter Chesang and Kennedy Ouma in the team.
For the Legal Committee which will be led by Abdulatif Korir, the team will have in place Duncan Hibichu, Ruth Omala, Dan Shikanda, Jezreel Mbegera, Dennis Gicheru and Edwin Ayiro. Meanwhile the Women’s Committee will see the FKF Women Representative Kerubo Momanyi chair the team assisted by Michael Senelwa with the membership including Milkah Nyambura, David Siele, Sarah Obonyo, Florence Adhiambo and Wanjiku Karani.
In the Youth Committee, the Chairperson will be the FKF Vice-president McDonald Mariga deputized by Ahmedqadar Mohammed of North Eastern region. The group will have Hamisi Mwakoja, Benson Kanyuuru, Ahmed Abdi, Kevin Oswere and Eugene Omudek. The Futsal & Beach Soccer Committee will be chaired by Gabriel Mghendi of Coast Region and Deputized by Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) Vice-president Terry Ouko. The membership therein will include; AL-Amin Abdalla, Swaleh Sultwan, Odha Ilu Hiyesa, Dickson Doyo and Dennis Murimi
The Medical Committee will be led by Saraphine Otieno with the team membership including; Bernard Lagat, Duncan Maghanga,Dan Shikanda, Alfred Kirui and James Lolochum. Additionally the Player Status Committee will be chaired by Charles Opiyo Kalee deputized by Bernard Omondi. The members will be Brenda Ongalo, Abdulahi Farah, Dickson Angore, Harrison Gitonga and Francis Oliele.
On the other hand, the Arbitration Committee will have Anima Odhiambo,Noordin Kagai,William Lokwee,Isaac Mwaura and Peter Karino while the IMOC group will have Robert Macharia be Chairperson assisted by Ken Rungu.The membership therein will include; McDonald Mariga,Kerubo Momanyi,Dan Shikanda,Abdul Hack Githaiga,Abdiaziz Osman, Bernard Lagat and Samson Lotian.
The committees have been structured to ensure fair representation and a blend of expertise. Their work will be critical in fostering the growth and success of football across the country.
