Big names make shortlist for PS Positions
Some famous names have made it through to the list of Principal Secretaries as President William Ruto seeks to rejig his Government once again.
According to a communiqué seen by the Informer Media Group, the likes of Ex-Nairobi City County Governor Ann Kananu, Director General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth, former Nominated MP Wilson Sossion and Ex-Cabinet Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Industrilization,Trade and Enterprise Development.
The shortlist by the Public Service Commission also has former Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Secretary General Dr. Ouma Oluga and Former Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Dr.Naim Bilal. A total 2517 applicants were received and 109 succeeded and shortlisted awaiting vetting.
Other personalities seen in the list include; Social Commentator Gabriel Oguda, former Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) Board Chairperson Ann Makori, Ex-Kenya Pipeline Corporation Managing Director Dr. Macharia Irungu, former PS State Department for Development of Arid and Semi-Arid Lands Micah Powon and Ambassador Galma Boru.
The former CEO Kenya National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak and Prof. Loice Maru from Bomet University are among those shortlisted. Also in the list are; Abdirashid Salat Abdille who served as a member of the Tailoring and Garment Manufacturing Trades Wages Council following his appointment in 2021 and Moi Teaching and Referral (MTRH) board member Dr. Erneo Nyakiba.
Chairperson of PSC has stated that the applications and shortlists were as a result to recent realignments and reassignments within the Executive wing of Government. Members of the public have been invited to provide any information regarding the shortlisted candidates through sworn affidavits.
“Submissions can be made to the Secretary/CEO, Public Service Commission, or via the official email of PSC by close of January 24, 2025,” PSC said in its statement.
Those shortlisted will undergo interviews, after which names of successful applicants will be forwarded to President William Ruto for formal appointment.
