DCI detectives arrest wanted serial fraudster Meshack Kipleting Tarbei in Kilimani, Nairobi
Detectives attached to the Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kilimani, Nairobi have finally apprehended a wanted serial fraudster who has been on the run for over a year now.
Meshack Kipleting Tarbei who has been on a police watch list and a director of Motorshop E.A Limited is facing multiple cases of fraud under investigations filed at Kilimani Police Station.
Tarbei, whose office was located at Marsabit Plaza along Ngong Road, allegedly defrauded unsuspecting members of the public before abruptly closing shop and disappearing.
At least nine victims had reported his fraudulent activities at the Kilimani Police Station.
Acting on the complaints, detectives launched a manhunt that culminated in Tarbei’s arrest at King Serenity Estate in Rongai.
He was escorted to the DCI Kilimani offices for processing ahead of his arraignment.
Investigators suspect that more victims may have reported similar cases against Tarbei at various police stations in Nairobi.
Police are consolidating all the cases pending his arraignment.
