Rapper King Kaka and wife Nana Owiti finally break-up

Kenyan power couple, comprising rapper King Kaka and content creator, TV presenter, and social media influencer Nana Owiti, has called it quits on each other.

The two announced their break-up in a statement posted on their respective social media pages on Tuesday morning, stating that the decision to part ways was not easy.

“We honestly never thought we would one day write a statement like this but life happens. After much reflection and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end our relationship.” The statement read in part.

The duo has been in a relationship as husband and wife for more than 13 years.

In their statement, they said despite the break-up, they would still be able to recount the countless memories they shared over the course of their relationship.

“Over the course of 13 years, we have shared countless memories, built a life together, and most importantly raised three incredible children who will always be our top priority.” The statement added.

They attributed this to the fact that as public figures in the community, their life might attract attention, but they wished for privacy after the bold decision to announce their break-up terming that the decision was not arrived at lightly.

“This decision was not made lightly and we remain deeply committed to maintaining a respectful and supportive relationship as we move forward separately. As public figures, we recognise that our personal lives may attract attention but we kindly ask for privacy and understanding during this time as we navigate this transition as a family.” They revealed.

The two added that even after their split, their main focus would be co-parenting their three children.

“Our focus remains on co-parenting our children with love, stability, and respect. They are the heart of everything we do and their happiness and well-being will always come first. We are grateful for the love and support we have received throughout our journey together and we ask for your continued kindness as we take this next step.” He stated.

“This is a joint decision made with mutual respect and we look forward to embracing the future as individuals while continuing to co-parent with the same partnership and dedication we’ve always had. Thank you for respecting our privacy.” The added.

In May this year, King Kaka was forced to shed light on allegations that Nana had broken-up with him, falsifying travel documents and running away to the US with their children.

He rubbished the viral reports as “fake stories” and that it wasn’t a publicity stunt or clout-chasing from their side.

“Nana is in the country, the kids are in school. Mi nashangaa hizo story zinatoka wapi. Let’s be mindful. There are so many people involved when we create these fake stories. Let’s create content but tusiharibu kitu nzuri.” He said then.
