Deputy Chief of Staff Owalo commence performance evaluation exercise for civil servants
The performance evaluation exercise for the financial year 2023/2024 in Ministries, state departments, MDAs, and government agencies kicked off today with Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of performance and delivery management in the Executive Office of the President Eliud Owalo calling for institutionalisation of performance contracting in government.
The exercise which will take two months aims at assessing the extent at which the commitments made by respective ministries during the beginning of the financial year and based on the bottom up economic transformation agenda.
Owalo was flanked by the Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano during the start of the evaluation exercise in the ministry of tourism headquarters, assured that the exercise will be held with utmost transparency and objectivity based on the agreed targets between the line ministries and the President during the signing of the contracts.
Among the key areas that will assessed during the exercise are the status of financial absorption of funds, status of digitization of government services, implementation of service delivery charters, project implementation rate among many other parameters that were negotiated and agreed upon.
The Annual Performance Evaluation exercise is the culmination of the Performance Contracting process in the public service and is carried out in a manner that ensures objectivity and integrity of the results.
