The Cooperative Bank of Kenya Limited has opened a new branch in Marimanti, Tharaka Nithi county as it seeks to boost its physical presence and a commanding lead as the financial institution of choice in the country.
The new branch adds to the fifteen earmarked for opening this year.

Among those present during the official opening include Co-op Bank customer James Mikume who said that customers have been waiting for us to open.
In June this year, Co-op Bank opened a new branch in Luanda town, Vihiga county.
In March this year, the tier 1 commercial lender announced plans to solidify its commanding foothold in the country and lined up to unveil fifteen new branches this year including the newly opned Luanda Branch.
The planned expansion will see the bank improve on its physical presence and number of outlets across the country thus brining financial services closer to the people.
The 15 branches will add to the eight opened last year and five in 2022.
As of September 2023, Co-op Bank had 193 branches countrywide.
Already, Co-op Bank has opened one branch in Ugunja town in Siaya county and will this month be opening another one in Imaara Shopping Mall in Nairobi along the Mombasa Road at the entrance to Nairobi’s Imara Daima estate.
