The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited has partnered with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to new utility blocks at Embakasi Garrison Parade Square in Nairobi.
While presiding over the official ground breaking ceremony today, October 29, 2024, Major General Luka Kutto, General Officer Commanding Eastern Command (GOC EASTCOM), he was joined by William Ndumia, Director of the Retail and Business Banking Division at Co-operative Bank of Kenya.
The project, a joint initiative with Co-operative Bank, includes construction of utility blocks, along with plumbing, drainage, electrical works, and access walkways.
In his address, Major General Kutto emphasised that the facility would improve the functionality of the parade square and enhance the welfare of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel.
He highlighted the parade square’s role in hosting high-level functions, drills, and training exercises, noting that the new block is a timely addition that will boost operational efficiency.
On his part, Ndumia spoke on the strong partnership between Co-operative Bank and the KDF, adding that the project would foster a cleaner environment and positively impact the health and welfare of service members.
The ceremony was attended by Formation Commanders, senior officers, KDF personnel, and representatives from Co-operative Bank.
