Ahmed Farah has been appointed the new Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to succed his predecessor Patrick Nyangweso.
According to KNCCI board of directors through Chamber president Erick Rutto, Farah’s expertise in Public-private partnerships has boosted in modernising the Country’s infrastructure and trade hence aligning with KNCCI’s vision.
“His expertise in creating strategic public-private partnerships has significantly boosted international investments to modernize Kenya’s infrastructure and trade systems.” KNCCI president stated.
“Farah’s vision aligns closely with KNCCI’s commitment to enhancing Kenya’s competitive edge in the global market.” He added.
Farah is the immediate former country director for TradeMark Africa in Kenya and succeeds Patrick Nyangweso at the helm of KNCCI, a membership-based private-sector organization that represents Kenya’s business community.
Farah holds a master’s degree in international development from the University of Manchester, U.K., and a bachelor’s in commerce from Kenyatta University.
He has also served on a presidential think tank focused on rebuilding Kenya’s economy post-Covid-19.
He pioneered initiatives under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework, especially towards supporting women and youth entrepreneurs.
“His role on Kenya’s National Investment Council, as appointed by President William Ruto, underscores his importance in shaping investment strategies and policies that attract global investors and stimulate sustainable growth.” Rutto stated.
