An employee of Directline Assurance Limited has today denied theft by servant charges at the Milimani Law Courts.
While appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Court Gilbert Shikwe, Wycliffe Wabukala denied the charges.
According to the prosecution, the accused is said to have committed the offence on diverse dates between April 1, 2024 and April 30, 2024.
The court heard that the accused stole the money that come in to his possession by virtue of his employment.
The accused was the company’s banker.
Further, the magistrate ordered the accused to deposit a cash bail of Sh500, 000 or an alternative bond of Sh1million to secure his release pending trial.
The court ordered the matter to be mentioned on November 11, 2024, for the pre-trial conference.
The Magistrate further directed the prosecution to supply the accused person or his defense counsel with all exits and documentary evidence, which will be relied upon during the trial.
