The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Kipchumba Murkomen, has emphasized the vital role of performance reviews in assessing progress and setting future goals.
He said the evaluations not only highlight achievements but also identify areas for improvement, ensuring the ministry effectively fulfills its mandate.
Speaking during a performance contracting session with Secretary to the Cabinet, Mercy Wanjau, and Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo aimed at validating the vetted ministerial performance contract for FY 2024/2025, the CS pointed out that the review serves as a critical opportunity to evaluate the ministry’s key milestones and align them with national priorities.
“This exercise is essential, not just for documentation but to ensure we stay on track in achieving our goals. It provides clarity on our successes and areas needing adjustment.” Murkomen said.
The CS reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to its mandate, guided by the performance review.
“This process keeps us aligned with the government’s broader agenda and ensures our targets reflect the aspirations of the Kenyan people.” He added, reiterating the importance of aligning the ministry’s efforts with national objectives.
He was joined by PS Ismail Maalim from the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, PS Eng. Peter Tum from the State Department for Sports, along with CEOs and Directors from the Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs) under the ministry.
