President Uhuru Kenyatta today started his campaigns across three counties with rallies in Meru County where he urged Jubilee supporters to turn out in large numbers for a clear win.
The President said all Jubilee supporters should turn up early on August 8 to vote and ensure Jubilee wins with a huge majority.Speaking at Athiru Ruujene, Meru county, President Kenyatta said the opposition was looking for all means to force a coalition government.“The only way they know is to get power through the back door. Please come out in large numbers to give us a clear win,” said the President.

The President said Kenya will not benefit from a coalition government and that was demonstrated when former President Mwai Kibaki was forced to form a coalition administration.

“Do not allow this man to create problems for us the same way he created problems for Mzee Kibaki,” said the President.

The President, who was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto and a host of local leaders, also received more than 50 young leaders who were formerly working for the opposition but who have defected to Jubilee.

“I thank those who were on the other side but have decided to work with us,” said the President.

He said the opposition has nothing to give Kenyans except propaganda meant to mislead and incite Kenyans against each other.

The President said the Jubilee Government was the first to recognize Miraa as a cash crop and allocated billions to support farmers.

He called on some individuals who lodged a case in court to stop the disbursement of Sh2 billion to Miraa farmers to remove their cases so that farmers can benefit.

The Head of State said the covernment will support to enhance the value of Miraa so that farmers can make more money from the crop.

The President also thanked the Njuri Ncheke elders for their support, adding that he is always ready to engage them on community issues.

The President is scheduled to address more rallies at Mikinduri and Chaaria, before heading  to Tharaka Nithi and Kitui counties.
