The High Court today ordered Nakumatt manager Abdul Kairo who is charged with murdering his junior worker at the supermarket chain headquarters in Nairobi to be released on bond of Sh 2 million.
Justice Jessie Lessit also granted Kairo a cash bail of Sh 1 million which he is supposed to deposit with the court.
Kairo has denied fatally shooting Stephen Wafula Musumbi, 23 a causal worker on November 10 2015. He is said to have shot him twice in the chest under unclear circumstances.
Earlier the judge had ordered the accused person to be been taken to the Mathare Hospital to undergo the preliminary procedure for murder suspects and doctors have since declared him fit to stand trial.
Justice Lessit granted bond terms after prosecution led by senior state counsel Catherine Mwaniki informed the court that prosecution was not opposing defence bail application.
Also probation report tabled before court cleared the accused which indicated that he qualifies to be release bond pending the hearing and determination of the case.
The case will be mentioned on September 28 for further direction.
