The Kenya power and Lightening Company (KPLC) has announced the success of the scheduled upgrade of the prepaid token vending system.
KPLC said the upgrade was completed Monday 10pm and prepaid Kenyans can now buy electricity tokens.
“Our prepaid customers can now buy their electricity tokens via all payment channels including M-PESA Paybill number 888880, Airtel Money and banking channels.” They said.
They expressed their appreciation to all its customers for their patience and understanding during the interruption.
“We assure Kenyans that we are committed to continuously improving our services to better their needs.”
The utility firm had previously in a statement notified the public of the unavailability of the prepaid token vending service on Sunday and Monday (June 2 and 3, 2024).
It added that this would be occasioned by a system upgrade that was scheduled to take place during the period.
Kenya Power said the service outage will be on all vending points.
