A multi-agency security team in Mbita Sub County in Homa Bay county are investigating a chilling murder, rape and violent robbery incident orchestrated by a gangland group of suspected local criminals who raided the home of a 32 years old boda boda operator before killing him, raping his wife and making away with his motorbike today at dawn.
The macabre incident believed to have been a premeditated attack was committed at Got Rateng’ village in Lambwe East location, Homa Bay County.
The gangsters reportedly raided Jacob Osore’s house at 4 am today where they attacked him with a panga until he fell unconscious before turning to his wife.
Lambwe East Chief Benard Ouma said the gangsters were heard demanding money which Osore acquired through a fundraiser organised a few weeks ago to help him purchase another motorbike since his previous one had been stolen in a previous robbery incident.
However, police are still investigating the matter to establish if there is another motive that could have informed the gruesome attack.
The deceased’s body is lying at Homa Bay County Referral Hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, Mbita Sub-County Police Commander Solomon Barngetuny has said that his officers are already at the scene.
