Former diplomat, Ambassador Bethuel Kiplagat, is being laid to rest today at his home in Mosoriot village in Mosop Constituency, Nandi County.

Kiplagat chaired the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission, which documented historical injustices against Kenyans.

Kiplagat died last Thursday at the age of 80 while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital

The late diplomat and Kenyan government official served as the chairman of Truth, Justice and reconciliation Commission (TJRC) from 2007 to November 2010.

He served as Kenya’s special envoy to the Somalia peace process from 2003 to 2005 and facilitated peace talks in Uganda in 1985.
