Retired president Kenyatta slam Ruto’s administration for incessant blame, challenge them to deal with own failures

Retired president Uhuru Kenyatta has broken his pro-longed silence and joined the political fray slamming his successor’s president William Ruto administration challenging them to deal with own failures and not using him as an excuse.

Uhuru hit out at Ruto’s government for blaming him every time they fail to deliver their mandate.

He made the remarks while addressing congregants at Mwingi Full Gospel Church earlier today where he joined Azimio One Kenya Coalition co-principal and Wiper Party leader and other leaders.

He urged the country to cease negative politics and instead focus on development.

Uhuru censured his successor for blaming him for his government’s failure and poor economy.

“I do not want to say much… not because I fear…I stopped fearing. We have been threatened, told a lot of things. Every time someone fails they say ‘Oh! Previous government.” Uhuru remarked.

“Tomorrow when women fail to give birth they will say ‘you know Uhuru did it’. I don’t know, but I am used to it.” He added.

The Kenya Kwanza leaders have incessantly blamed Uhuru’s regime for the economic hardships facing the country today notably the high cost of living.

Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua have been on the record saying heavy borrowing and subsidies during Uhuru’s tenure plunged the country into the economic crisis.

”We were in a situation where we were deep in debts and did not have a programme to get us out of the mess… We have made sure that we have stopped borrowing, left, centre and right.” Ruto said at Sagana State Lodge on August 6, 2023.

Recently, Gachagua and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen blamed Uhuru’s government for the infrastructural challenges experienced at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The airport has experienced frequent power outages and a roof was seen leaking, issues that Kenya Kwanza says are a result of substandard projects by the Jubilee government.

Uhuru who is deemed to still to enjoy commanding political influence in the larger Mount Kenya region added that he is still loyal to his Azimio coalition and he is there to stay.

“When they ask me I tell them I belong to the Azimio Coalition, that’s where I am, I amnt a deceitful person.” Uhuru said.
