Tributes continue to stream in mourning the fallen prolific Capital FM’s Sports journalist Sean Cardovillis whose lifeless body was found in his Westlands house along Rhapta Road in Nairobi yesterday
Kenya Motorsport Federation (KMSF) president Maina Muturi and the entire motorsport fraternity mourned Sean gave the motorsport great dedication more than he received.
Kenya Motorsport Federation (KMSF) and the entire motorsport fraternity mourns the sudden and ultimate death of Sean Cardovillis. The passing on of Sean Cardovillis has devastated the motorsports fraternity. Sean was a motorsports journalist who brought in flavour and vibe including TV productions voice, over, radio broadcasts, running commentaries and generally being there for the sport. Sean gave the sport more than he received. The KMSF joins his family in this time of grief in remembering Sean.” Muturi said.
President William Ruto also led the country in mourning the demise of Sean.
In a message of condolences, Ruto mourned Sean as an accomplished sports journalist whose impact will be missed dearly.
“Saddened by the passing of a brilliant and outstanding sports broadcaster Sean Cardovillis. He was a cool, insightful and gifted journalist who played an integral role on our radio stations.” Ruto said.
“We will miss his clear and concise voice, passion and upbeat personality. Our prayers are with his family and media fraternity at this painful time. Rest in Peace, Sean.” He added.
Police said Cardovillis’ body was found Saturday, September 9 morning outside his house along Rhapta Road, Westlands where he lived alone.
According to the police, the body was found at his staircase by a cleaner who had gone to clean the area leading to his house on the fourth floor of an apartment, police and witnesses said.
It is not clear if he was leaving for work or had died Friday night, police said.
Witnesses said the cleaner raised the alarm and an ambulance arrived there. Police too visited the scene.
The medics declared him dead at the scene. They carried away his body to the mortuary.
