Embattled transport company Easy Coach has lifted a ban that had been imposed on the transportation of fish and fish products in its public service vehicles following complaints over awful smell.
The company, in a statement issued yesterday, said passengers can now carry fish and fish products on condition that it is “appropriately packed.”
This was a rejoinder to the earlier controversial ban that attracted serious backlash from fish traders from the lakeside.
The ban had been imposed following complaints by some clients on poorly packaged fish/fish products contaminating their accompanied luggage.
“The suspension has been lifted and you can now carry your fried, dried, smoked, salted; mbuta , ngege , kamongo, omena etc, only as accompanied luggage on our buses on condition that it is appropriately packed.” The statement reads in part.
