A senior Nakumatt manager who is said to have shot and killed his junior colleague at the supermarket’s headquarters was today charged with murder.
Transport manager Steve Abdul Kairo who appeared before High Court Judge Justice Justice Jessie Lessit plead not guilty to the murder charges against him after being declared fit to stand trial.
Justice Lessit ordered the suspect detained till July 27 2017 when aprobation report will be file din court to precede a determination on whether he qualifies to be release on bond.
Kairo is alleged to have fatally shot Stephen Wafula Musumbi, 23, twice in the chest after he allegedly attacked him with a panga on November 10,2015 at the supermarket headquarters Industrial area, Nairobi county.
The accused is a licensed gun holder and his pistol was immediately confiscated to be used as exhibit in the case after allegedlycommitting the offence.
According to the police the deceased who appeared to be mentally disturbed started chasing his colleagues while armed with a panga and a spade before he was shot dead by his boss.
It is said that one of the workers sustained a panga cut while the rest fled to safety on the material day. The deceased is said to have attacked Kairo who shot him twice on the left side of his chest using his Berreta pistol loaded with nine bullets.
