Eldoret Catholic Bishop, Cornelius Korir, has once again condemned the violence witnessed in Kisumu, Baringo and Thika during the various campaign rallies.
Speaking at Sing’ore Girls High School during their Jubilee(50 years) celebration, Korir further issued a warning saying that the country is heading to war if leaders will not stop their supporters from such violence.
Also present was Elgeyo Marakwet Governor, Alex Tolgos, who expressed concerns on the danger of allowing the latest trend of youth from Jubilee and NASA to continue causing violence.
According to Korir, disrespecting institutions established under the Constitution and showing the populace that the courts are not working by attacking them directly in public rallies can be a recipe for chaos.
Elsewhere, the clergy from Baringo County have urged politicians to preach peace ahead of the August polls.
Speaking at Kabarnet on Friday, the clergy condemned the recent attacks on NASA during their political rally held at Kabarnet town terming it archaic and primitive.
The leaders maintained that such acts of violence are unacceptable further urging supporters from different political parties to respect each other.
Led by Bishop William Kitilit, the clergy said that the church continues to condemned such actions and appealed to Kenyans to consider peaceful campaigns and peaceful elections.
