President William Ruto has appointed a seven-member selection panel tasked to search and recruit a suitable person to the post of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The ODPP post was left vacant after former DPP Noordin Haji was appointed the Director General of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), the country’s spy agency.
Among the seven-member team include Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Chief Executive Offivcer Twalib Mbarak.
The panel was gazetted today vide a gazette notice.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of the Office of Director of Public Prosecution Act, 2013, I William Ruto appoint the following to be members of the selection panel for the selection of nominees for appointment as the Director of Public Prosecution.” The notice read in part.
Other appointees include; Mary Kimonye, Shadrack Mose, Mary Adhiambo Maungu Roseline Odede and Richard Onsongo Bush Obwocha.
