In our initial exposé of a three-part series dubbed ‘Nairobi West property row pitting Asian family, city businesswoman drags on 9 years later’, The Informer Media Group bring to you a convoluted tale of alleged land grabbing and dispossession of a multimillion property pitting a family of Asian origin and a flamboyant controversial city businesswoman.
The alleged grabber is said to have an insatiable appetite for prime properties in the city.
For almost a decade now, the family of Purshottam Negandhi lay claim to the property as legitimate owners saying the family patriarch, Negandhi, now deceased bought the land and build the house in 1979.
However, hell broke loose in 2014 when the land was allegedly transferred fraudulently to alleged grabber marred by acrimonious dramatic scenes of eviction by auctioneers.
While fighting to retain the controversial property, two years later, in 2016, Negandhi, an accountant by profession passed on leaving behind his descendants including her daughter-in-law Naina Negandhi to “fight for the family treasure that was on the verge of being grabbed.” An insider privy with the goings-on intimated.
In our subsequent publications, we unearth the murky dealings of alleged fraudulent land transfer using forged documents, use of proxy tenants to lay claim of occupation and dispossession.
