An alleged racist city tycoon of Indian origin is accused of violently attacking a private security guard stationed at one of the posh residential apartments in Kileleshwa in Nairobi.
The tycoon said to be a property dealer and private developer is seen violently pushing and punching the victim in a CCTV footage in an altercation that lasted for a few minutes yesterday afternoon.
The security guard is attached to Steward International Security Services Limited.
According to eyewitnesses, the controversial tycoon retorted at the security officer before spewing unpalatable words at him.
He then punched and pushed private guard who is said to have restrained himself from fighting back and just blocked the punches.
“He came and angrily started insulting the security guards. He uttered racists comments which were unfortunate. The incident happened shortly after 2.30pm yesterday.” Our source intimated.
Their colleagues now want the labour unions to agitate for the prosecution of the attacker and his status in the country ascertained through the Department of Immigration Services to authenticate if he is in the country legally.
In 2012, former Deputy Chief Justice Nancy Baraza resigned after a tribunal recommended her sacking for pinching a security guard at Village Market in Nairobi and allegedly threatening to shoot her.
According to Rebecca Kerubo, the former the judge had pinched her nose and pulled out a gun after refusing to be frisked at a shopping centre on New Year’s Eve.
The seven-member panel, headed by Tanzania’s former Chief Justice Augustino Ramadhani, agreed with the guard’s account of events at the Village Market shopping centre.
