The fate of the nominated Jubilee Party rebel Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Minority Whip in the National Assembly Sabina Chege will be sealed tomorrow after the nominating party under Azimio One Kenya Coalition decided to de-whip her.
The opposition coalition under the leadership of Raila Odinga will tomorrow afternoon formally notify National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula of its resolution to replace Sabina Chege in the House as MPs reconvene after a short recess.
Impeccable sources within Jubilee Party and the umbrella Azmio coalition who spoke to The Informer Media Group intimated that Garissa Woman Representative Amina Udgoon is likely to take over as the Deputy Minority Whip.

Sabina has been on record publicly articulating the ruling Kenya Kwanza agenda which negates the Political Parties Act provisions.
Sabina also ditched immediate former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party, a member of the coalition, for President William Ruto’s UDA under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
“Someone who is propagating and advancing the agenda of the party or coalition that did not sponsor him or her to parliament cannot continue to hold a privileged position. This would be allowing sabotage to thrive. We have to abide by the party and coalition ideals. We do not have shortage of loyal party members.” Our source intimated.
The Jubilee Party has also resolved to expel Sabina from the party.
When contacted for comment, both Sabina and JP Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni did not respond to phone calls.
If JP makes good their threat to expel her, Sabina will automatically lose her nominative parliamentary seat.
The decision to have Ms Chege removed as deputy minority whip was decided during Azimio coalition Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting on Thursday last week at Stoni Athi, Machakos County.
The Azimio PG resolution will be formally communicated to the Speaker tomorrow.
Besides JP, other members of the Azimio coalition who attended the PG include; ODM, Wiper of Mr Kalonzo Musyoka, Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya of former Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, and KANU of former Baringo Senator Gideon Moi among others.
While donating assorted foodstuffs to orphanages, people with disabilities and seven schools in Garissa County to supplement the government feeding program in the region, Amina said that she is qualified and ready to serve her party as deputy minority whip.
“It will be an honour to serve my party at that level. I am equal to the task and I promise to deliver if given the opportunity to serve the party.” Amina said.
Because the Deputy Minority Whip position belongs to Jubilee, it means that Sabina’s replacement can only come from her party although KANU wants Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda to replace Sabina.
Raila, who is also the ODM party leader, has already called for an amendment to the law to empower parties to expel rebellious MPs from their party membership roll.
Raila spoke after Seven ODM MPs and others affiliated to Azimio said that they will work with president Ruto, a position that goes against their party position.
In her tour of the county, Amina also held meetings with the various schools in an effort to identify the main challenges, gaps and opportunities that require interventions.
Among the schools she visited include Sankuri Girls, Garissa High School, Saka Girls, Madogashe Girls, Fafi Girls, Yusuf Haji Girls and Dertu Girls.
She reiterated her resolve to compliment the realization of quality, equitable and accessible education for all children as provided for in the constitution.
