Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has said that former president Uhuru Kenyatta promised everyone close to him that he would support their quest for presidency and never mobilised for Azimio One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga in Mt. Kenya.
Speaking in Uriri constituency, Migori County, Mudavadi said Raila should retreat privately and ask himself why he lost the election.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary reminded Kenyans that President William Ruto’s presidency has been affirmed by all the institutions of law and that no one is able to reverse that reality.
“President Ruto and I respect Raila so much. We have stood with him before. We negotiated to bring the national accord and Raila was our leader then. We now want to stand with him. We also want him to stand with us”, said Mudavadi.
“You residents of Uriri are lucky. You are the gateway to Tanzania. We cannot afford to disrupt an International highway. You have a wide array of mineral and big tourism potential that as a government we need to tap. We need investors for mining and tourism for revenue generation of the county,” he added.
President Ruto on the other hand affirmed that Nyanza will not be left behind in the plans for the future of the country.
“My government will ensure that nobody takes the people of Nyanza the opposite from government. I advocate for unity so that we confront all our challenges as a united nation,” said President Ruto.
