Three County hospitals in Laikipia have benefited with equipment that will assist them work efficiently and give proper services to the people.
The equipment worth over shillings 600,000 were donated by Aphia Plus and will be distributed in Nanyuki Teaching and Referral, Rumuruti Sub County and Doldol County Hospitals.
Speaking when he received them County Health Executive Dr David Njoroge noted that so far the county has received equipment worth over five million in the last one year from the group.
Dr Njoroge said that collaboration with Aphia Plus has enabled training of employees on various sectors including HIV awareness. He noted that the equipment will be used in The Theatre, Xray, Laboratory and outpatients and will improve service delivery to the people.
The executive said that once such donations are issued to the government hospitals they go a long way in assisting the needy people from poor background who cannot afford to go to private hospitals.
Aphia Plus Nuru ya Bonde Project Manager kennedy Odero noted that they have been able to donate the items through the assistance of people of USA through USAID. Odero said that they ensure there is a technical team that trains the medical practioners on how to use the equipment.
