A motorist was today burnt to death after a self-involved fatal accident at Pangani tunnel along the Thika Super Highway.
According to a police report, the unknown driver aged 45 years was headed towards CBD from Thika General direction and on reaching at the location of the accident, he lost control of the vehicle and hit a pavement wall.
The vehicle as a result of the impact went into flames.
The driver however managed to get out of the vehicle but was unfortunately overwhelmed by the fire flames and fell about one meter away and died on the spot.
The Nairobi county fire brigade responded promptly and managed to put out the fire.
The deceased’s body was moved to city mortuary while the car was towed to Pangani Police Station.
