The National Assembly Finance and Planning Committee has approved the appointment of former Tourism and Wildlife Principal Secretary Susan Jemtai Koech as Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) deputy governor.
In a report tabled in Parliament, the committee said she met all requirements for appointment as the second deputy governor.
Last month, President William Ruto had nominated Koech for the deputy governor’s position and forwarded her name to the Parliament for vetting.
Apart from Koech, other candidates who were shortlisted for the position included; Charles Ringera, Paul Muthaura, Rose Ngugi, Munir Ahmed, and James Teko Lopoyetum.
Others included; Gerald Nyaoma, Jean Wameyo, Christopher Mwembesa, and Fredrick Otieno Oyugi.
Koech was acquitted as a suspect in the Arror and Kimwarer Sh63billion graft case.
