The national police service has released names of seven suspected members of a notorious youth gang terrorizing the public, in Old town Mombasa.
The list include two women identified as Manal Feisal and Fallu who are believed to be girlfriends of slain Mombasa gangster popularly known as Mohammed Bobocha.
The two girlfriends have vowed to avenge his death.
Others whose names were released and circulated to various security agencies are, Ahmed Beyaa, Izzat, Nego and Osman.
Bobocha who was the gang leader of Temeke criminal group, who hailed from old town, area was killed by a mob after he allegedly robbed a man in Mkanyageni area.
Residents claimed that he had stabbed and robbed an old man before taking off; an angry mob gave a chase and cornered him near the ocean where they lynched him to death.
In a series of posts on facebook,the two girlfriends have vowed to avenge Bobochas death, claiming that he was a good man,who lived a decent life and did not deserve to die in such a manner.
Coast Regional coordinator Nelson Marwa,said the Government would not relent on criminals who were out to terrorize and rob residents.
“The government is on the watch, we have first hand intelligence of the, criminal gangs in old town regrouping your days are numbered you either surrender to the authority or we will come for you”, said Marwa.
He additionally said that more police officers had been deployed to beef up security in the area, after it was alleged that tension still remained high as the criminal gangs were planning to carry attacks to avenge Bobochas death.
