Property worth millions was Sunday razed down by an inferno when a commercial building caught fire in Meru town, Imenti North Sub County.
The 4pm incident started in a tailoring shop after the owner left an iron box on and it spread to adjacent rooms which host different types of businesses including salons, movie shops, clothing shops and many more.
Fire fighters from Meru County managed to put the inferno 2 hours later but residents condemned them for not having enough water as they had to go and refill a truck which its water ran out.
Business owners in adjacent buildings were evacuated as others tried to salvage what they could but most of the property had caught fire.
Police are investigating the matter.
