A top executive in one of the parastatals that has recently hit headlines over graft allegations is enraged by friends’ over last minute cancellation notices to attend planned homecoming at a Nairobi upmarket residence.
Whispers told Grapevine the associates gave all manner of excuses to skive today’s much publicised invitations to who is who in the hierarchy of power.
However, the associates are said to have decided to give the invitation a wide berth following heaps of revelations of underhand dealings the top executive allegedly engaged in and fear investigative agencies; the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (Eacc) would be on the trail of the beleaguered official.
They consider it ‘safe’ not to be seen so close to the official or else become a person of interest in the probe of the wider scheme of claimed clandestine operations.
Whispers told Grapevine the official also intend to use the platform and political bargaining to slow down possible probe.
