Co-op Bank opens new branch in Chwele, Bungoma county
Co-operative Bank in its bid to expand its market across the country has opened a new branch in Chwele town, Bungoma county.
The new branch is located at Top Life Plaza in Chwele which is an agricultural marketing centre located between Kimilili and Bungoma.
“Karibuni Chwele Branch! We are located at Top life plaza. Bringing our services near you. We are ready to serve you!” the lender said in a statement.
The opening of the outlet is part of an implementation of its medium-term strategy focused on local expansion.
“The emerging theory that bank branches and ATMs will cease to exist is largely wishful thinking driven by desire to cut brick-and-mortar costs, and not by credible customer feedback on the service outlets through which customers prefer to be served,” Co-op Bank Chief Executive Officer Gideon Muriuki had said.
The move to open the new outlet will expand the bank’s customer base.
