The Senate has today recommended the formation of a special panel to probe the impeachment charges against Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza.
The Senate Business Committee asked the House to approve 11 names it has proposed to sit on the panel.
“The senate resolves to establish a special committee to investigate the proposed removal from office of the Governor of Meru County,” the motion reads in part.
Majority whip Boni Khalwale (Kakamega), Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), Karungo Thangwa (Kiambu) and Ali Roba (Mandera) are among senators whose names have been listed to sit in the panel.
Other members include Esther Okenyuri (nominated), Peris Tobiko (nominated), Eddy Oketch (Migori), Joseph Kamau (Lamu), Edwin Sifuna (Nairobi), Agnes Kavindu (Machakos) and Johnes Mwaruma (Taita Taveta).
