Police have arrested a total of five alleged muggers in Huruma, Nairobi following an intelligence led operation on their whereabouts.
According to the police, the area command staged twin separate evening and night operations between 6pm and 9pm in which they seized the profiled notorious muggers.
Three of the suspected criminals identified as Kennedy Wamae, Kevin Mwaniki Lanjuki and Bernard Musyoki were arrested during the initial operation while seven others escaped.
They are still at large.
Several daggers were were found under their trousers.
Previous police records show indicate Mwaniki is not a first time offender and was once a detainee but was released a month ago and is believed to be the main mastermind of robberies committed within Huruma and Mathare.
Although no complaint has been reported, he is also believed to have stabbed a staff of Huruma nursing with a knife while robbing him in the company of ten others.
During the second operation at St Martin where the other seven suspected criminals had escaped, two of them were apprehended while hiding at a garbage point.
They were identified as Fredrick Nangoti and Pascal Ouma and reside in Eastleigh and Mathare North respectively.
They are believed to run a Huruma based criminal syndicate.
The five have since been processed pending arraignment before Makadara Law courts.
