A Nakuru Court has found a senior National Lands Commission (NLC) Official Frank Ole Kibelakenya with a case to answer and he has been put on his defense for allegedly soliciting for a bribe.
Mr Kibelakenya who is also the secretary of the Nakuru County Land Management Board, had been charged with soliciting a bribe of Sh 1.5 million to include names of eight people to the land register in the allocation of land in Oljorai Settlement Scheme.
Chief Magistrate Josephat Kalo on issuing his ruling said that the he had considered the evidence presented by the prosecution against the accused and that he be put on his defence.
“The prosecution have provided sufficient evidence to warrant putting the accused on his defence and i accordingly direct that he be put on his defence,” He ruled.
Mr Kibelakenya who is out on a Sh 500,000 bond had pleaded not guilty and in previous hearings tried to have the case struck out on grounds of being framed in the matter to no avail.
Defense hearing is slated on September 29.
