Former Naivasha MP John Mututho has petitioned Interior Cabinet Secretary to investigate the cause of some families relocating from Nakuru and Naivasha sub-counties.
Mututho, who is eyeing Nakuru governor seat on an Independent ticket called upon CS Joseph Nkaissery to form a task force team to probe the cause of people fleeing from the area.
“The government should take decisive action to address the issue so as to allow people to exercise their constitutional right by voting in the coming August 8 poll,” he said.
He pointed that there must be a reason why these families are relocating; their fears, either perceived or real should be addressed.
His petition comes a fortnight after Nakuru Catholic Diocese Bishop Maurice Muhatia raised concerns families fleeing the county ahead of the General Elections.
The clergyman said the trend was worrying and urged neighbours in the affected estates to live in unity and government to provide security.
