A Nairobi court today enhanced cash bail of Sh 300,000 to Sh 500,00 imposed to Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi who is facing charges of forging his academic credentials and presenting a false declaration in the 2013 General Election for skipping court.
Milimani principal magistrate Flex Kombo increased the cash bail following application by prosecution led by senior state counsel Joseph Riungu that the accused had failed to comply with court summons which required him to attend court and explain why he earlier failed to appear in court when the matter first came for hearing.
The prosecutor told the court that the accused deliberately skipped the court proceedings because his cash bail was too leniency and the explanantion that he was particiapating in nominations was not merited.
He therefore asked the court to impose a bail terms which will make him turn up for the proceeding.
