Three people were today arrested in Kimilili town after they were found repackaging a Sh 90 subsidised maize flour.
The suspects were got in one of the churches where they were repackaging the flour into polythene paper bags.
Area OCPD Mary Waciu said they nubbed the suspects who are traders in town after a tip of from members of the public.
She said the suspects were repackaging the flour and sell at a cost of between 140 and 130shillings.
Members of the public tipped us that some trader s had locked themselves in the church where they were repackaging the government’s subsidised flour “she said.
The police boss said 300 bale’s of the flour had already been repacked by the time her officers arrived.
Waciu said the suspects will be arraigned in court today at Kimilili law courts. The officer said they were going to comb all the shops in the area to ensure that locals are not exploited by con traders.
“Area residents have been complaining that they are not getting the subsidised flour when unscrupulous traders were exploiting them” she noted.
