Cliff Ombeta, has conceded defeat after losing in the Bonchari Constituency elections held yesterday.
The city lawyer took to his Twitter platform to share his views on the matter.
“Bonchari had a different vision from mine. Grateful for the run and the experience. Perhaps next time we may have the same view,” tweeted Ombeta.
He was contesting for the Member of Parliament seat under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
The prominent criminal lawyer further stated that the constituency will always be special to him.
“Those who believe in me, we will keep it alive. This will not be our end politically. Our vision was probably not the same as the ordinary Boncharian, therefore, we must bring it back to them in a different dimension,” he continued.
Ombeta was competing against eight other candidates; Charles Onchoke from United Progressive Alliance Party (UPA), former MP Zebedeo Opore (Jubilee), Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) Jonah Ondieki Onkendi, Charles Mogaka from (UPIA), Violet Tita from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Geoffrey Okindo (USAWA), James Atancha from Maendeleo Chap Chap Party (MCC), and David Ogega from Kenya National Congress (KNC).
The candidate conceded defeat even before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced the final tally results.
